Update on A Walk Through Time

I know I promised my next post would be the story of my earliest memory, like the one I challenged each of you to write, but I couldn’t resist first doing an update to the blog post titled “A Walk Through Time”. I encourage you to reread it as it will help make better sense of this posting.

The post was about a day in the French Village of New Brunswick where my grandfather was employed when he first arrived in Canada in 1912. Our hosts on the tour of the area were Brian and Debbie Chisholm. Debbie is the granddaughter of the couple who employed the real Will Parker. They just sent me the following lovely note with comments about their reading of both A Ring of Promises and Promise of the Bluebell Woods!

“We both enjoyed the books!  Ring of Promises was so special with the family connection for Debbie and being able to imagine the settings in the New Brunswick part of the story. Your grandfather’s exploits in northern Manitoba were incredible.

I bought Bluebell Woods for Deb last Christmas,  and we loved it. Great characters and a different view of the wartime experience. The letters they wrote made me think of my father overseas in Italy and Holland and the dozens of airmail notes he sent my mother back in Nova Scotia (I still have them).

We look forward to your next book – is there one in the works?   Have a great summer, hopefully our paths will cross again someday.”

“Cheers,

Debbie and Brian”

In answer to the question about the next book, yes I am working on it but the progress is slower than I would have liked. It is the story of Pearl after landing in Canada and her transition to being a Canadian! I think it will be titled “A Touch of Promise. It will be the last in the series of books before I figure out my next project.

I love to hear form readers so keep the notes coming!
