Hope this newsletter finds you all safe and coping with the world that surrounds us. As I look out my office window on this rainy October morning I see the beauty of mother nature coming into full bloom with the cavalcade of fall colours … my favourite time of the year. I hope you are somehow finding the beauty in our world as we continue to struggle to reclaim some normalcy … whatever that will mean.
I’ve been buried in my upcoming novel over the past months, at least when the need to care for grandchildren during Covid allowed me the time. First draft is done and I’m halfway through the second. Hoping to have it out for your eyes shortly after New Years. It’s another historical romance, this time set during the second world war. Once again inspired by a true story.
I’m playing with titles right now: What do you think of “ The Promise of the Bluebell Woods”? Would you be attracted to a book with that title? And a cover with this image with a WW2 soldier and the woman he loves on it?
While this book is not a sequel to “A Ring of Promises”, I am contemplating a 3rd novel that ties the characters from the two books together in the post second world war era. Thus, I thought the use of the word promise in both titles might hint at some connection. Love to hear what you think!
Marie, I love the title…it is seductive and intriguing. I would read a book with this title…”bluebell woods” is like a painting. And your plan for your third novel to draw them both together is brilliant.
Thanks for the input Brenda.
I LOVE that name and I love how it ties them together for a third novel! I would definitely read that!
Thanks for the input Cathy!
I like the concept of tying in the stories. Not a sequel but it becomes a kind of signature for the series. Nice. The image is gorgeous — I think those bluebells are in Belgium or France — at any rate, given the setting this also works quite well — as long as the people look natural in the scene. The delights of media these days means it can be done. Soldier on, my friend. Excited to know you’re working on the next book.
Thanks for the input …
I agree, the title is perfect, love the cover as well.
Thanks Kim … appreciate the input.
