Marie, this is a very enthralling review…who wouldn’t want to read this story? Not only romantic and full of hardship, but true and complete in its ending. Thanks for more publicity for this great story. It made me think of my own great grandparents running away from Kilkenny Castle in Ireland (where they were servants) and coming to NL…what a story must be there that I will never know – but you do know your own story so well, and your sharing with the world reminds us of all that went before in the beautiful, detailed, and heart-softening story you tell so well.
Thanks Brenda. I really love the opening line because it is truly what happened. My grandmother’s ring spoke to me my whole adult life and when I found my grandfather’s journal the two combined to collide with my imagination and were woven into a mix of fact and fiction.
